Batteries should last between 3-5 years. If your battery requires early replacement it’s a possible sign of further issues in the car or extreme driving.
When the battery becomes unreliable, you notice slow engine crank, your battery is leaking, bloated or corroded, or a maximum lifespan of 5 years.
Limit short rides as this prevents a full charge; limit the use of your car in extreme heat or cold weather; turn off all lights including automatic lights; don’t use electronics when idling.
Have you left any lights or electricals on? Check less obvious things like the glovebox not closing properly. If the problem persists you may have an electrical drain that needs professional attention.
Slow engine crank; failing car electricals such as power windows; a battery dashboard warning light appears; swollen battery case; weird smell and old age.
Rapid clicking usually indicates a faulty or dead battery which will need replacing. A single loud click usually means the starter motor needs replacing.
