A cars carburettor distributes fuel through the engine. If there are any blockages it can cause an engine to misfire or overheat. Common signs of a carburettor problem can be when the engine is difficult to start; hesitating or stalling when starting; or running rough or idling when it has started.
If there is dirt or blockages in your carburettor it will impact the flow of fuel through your engine. Common symptoms are black smoke from the exhaust or a popping sound from your exhaust. Your Blue Toro mechanic will be able to clean your carburettor which is usually a simple job. Having your carburettor cleaned will improve the fuel efficiency and performance of your car and prevent further repairs.
Your car’s fuel filter is paramount to filtering out dirt and debris in the cars fuel system. The fuel filter should be changed every 3-4 years or 60,000-80,000kms - whichever comes first. Adverse driving conditions and dirty conditions will reduce the life of the cars fuel filter. Not replacing the fuel filter will reduce the cars fuel efficiency and performance and eventually lead to expensive carburettor repairs or other engine problems.
This could be a sign that your carburettor is blocked and needs cleaning. Dirt in the cars engine or fuel system will impact your cars performance. If your cars fuel filter hasn’t been replaced for some time it could mean that the filter is no longer effectively filtering out dirt and small particles are clogging the fuel system. You should have your mechanic check out your car as soon as possible.
One of the most common causes carburettor problems is dirt in the fuel system. To help avoid this you should 1) Have your mechanic replace the cars fuel filter per your manufacturer’s schedule or when they say it’s blocked; 2) Avoid dirt around the fuel cap. When you refuel ensure there is no dirt that can enter the fuel system; 3) Avoid parking under trees and dirty terrain where dirt and debris can enter the engine.
