Common ENGINE WARNING questions
Yes we can. Check engine warning lights can easily be diagnosed onsite. With subsequent repairs usually carried out on the spot. Blue Toro is manufacturer approved with all the latest equipment onboard. And with more 5-star Google reviews than any other mechanic in Australia, it’s no wonder more car owners are converting to Australia’s most trusted and convenient dealership alternative.
If your check engine warning light comes on it means your car has an engine problem that needs attention as soon as possible. Ignoring the light and continuing to drive for days could lead to major engine failure and very costly repairs. If the light comes on you should see your Blue Toro mechanic as soon as possible.
It could be as simple as a loose or cracked fuel cap causing fuel to evaporate. However it’s more likely caused by your engine overheating or low oil pressure in your car or another failed component in the engine. Leaving this will continue to cause further damage to your car. You should see your Blue Toro mechanic as soon as possible.
The longer you continue to drive your car the more damage you’re likely to cause and the larger your repair bill is likely to bill. Use minimal driving to get your car to your mechanic as soon as possible. Better yet call a Blue Toro mobile mechanic to avoid driving altogether. If the engine warning light is flashing orange (rather than solid) you should avoid driving your car altogether.
Your mechanic will be able to do a diagnostic test with a scan tool to identify why the light has come on. This will typically cost $100-$200 if you avoid the dealer network. From there your mechanic can provide a quote on the repair required which will vary greatly depending on the problem and the model and age of your car.
The engine warning light is on your dashboard. It looks like an engine and illuminates orange if there is an issue with your engine. Some models of cars will display the words ‘check’ or ‘check engine’ along side it.
